With its velvety red color and unmistakable bouquet of cherries, this wine is a wonderful treat, with a juicy body, tasty and harmoniously balanced.
The history of Kelterei Chr. Hartmann GmbH fruit and mead wines from the castle Gebsattel are characterized by their particularly high fruit content and above-average alcohol content. You will recognize and enjoy the pure and typical fruit.
In 1859, Christian Hartmann acquired the castle of the Von Gebsattel family and founded a materials business there that was “related to the sale and export of products from the Rhön: roots, herbs, berry juices.”
In 1899, Gustav Hartmann took over the fruit press under the company name “Christian Hartmann, owner Gustav Hartmann, Saxon Grand Ducal purveyor by appointment", which was gradually expanded by his son Paul and from 1970 by his grandson Karlheinz to become a nationwide renowned production company for fruit wines.
Committed to tradition, even today, over 150 years after it was founded, the wines are made according to original recipes that have been handed down and with the best fruits and under the strictest quality criteria. It was not without reason that the castle Gebsattel was purveyor to the court of the Grand Duchy of Saxony and was praised by the magazine "Der Feinschmecker" (The Gourmet) for the special quality of the wines.
Even today - in the 5th generation - the best fruit wine matures in the old wooden barrels and is still produced in the 21st century according to the original traditional recipe of Christian Hartmann.
